United Wheels (UW), the parent company of Huffy, Niner, Batch, and Buzz Bicycles, has officially announced the addition of Michael Gonzalez as the new Category Manager of BMX Product Management. A former pro BMX rider and seasoned product strategist, Gonzalez brings a wealth of experience to the role, with a career that includes leadership positions at top BMX brands like Odyssey BMX, Sunday Bikes, SE Bikes, and Full Factory Distribution. His expertise spans complete bike product management, global distribution coordination, sales strategy, and aftermarket product development, making him a powerful asset in UW’s mission to innovate and expand its BMX offerings.

Gonzalez is set to lead United Wheels’ global BMX product initiatives, focusing on innovation and delivering high-quality solutions for riders and retailers alike. His appointment signals UW’s commitment to elevating its BMX brands, including the iconic Huffy, by aligning product strategy with rider needs and market trends. “It’s an exciting time for BMX and a perfect time to welcome Mike to the United Wheels team,” said John Fowler, SVP of Product Development. Gonzalez echoed the excitement, calling it an “absolute honor” to join a team with such a bold vision for the future of BMX.

With Gonzalez at the helm of BMX product management, brands like Huffy—already a legendary name in BMX—could see a major revival in quality, innovation, and credibility. Fans know that with the right leadership, these brands can once again become central to the BMX scene, both for beginners and core riders. United Wheels bringing on someone with this level of experience shows they’re serious about BMX. It's not just about selling bikes—it’s about pushing the sport forward with better products, more thoughtful design, and a renewed focus on what makes BMX exciting in the first place.
