After claiming the 2025 ABA Futures overall title, Matthew Weerts is stepping into the Men’s Pro class for the 2026 USA BMX Pro Series. Weerts reflects on the momentum he built last season, when his confidence began to click around the Derby City Nationals and carried him to the Futures crown.
Originally starting at St. Peters BMX in Missouri, Weerts returned to racing as a teenager after several years away and quickly rose through the ranks. Now based in Florida, he’ll line up in 2026 with the Factory LSG SYNDYT squad while also targeting international U23 racing.
With Supercross stops in Houston, Rock Hill, and Legacy opening the season, Weerts' focus is on gaining experience and consistency. His first goal as a rookie: reach a semi-main and eventually a Men Pro main event.
