Sweeps, Streaks, and Screams: Day Two at Worlds

The boys and girls of BMX were back on track for day two of racing in Brisbane, and with the young guns on their 20-inch wheels joining the fray, the intensity around the track clicked up a notch. Every rider out there was grasping for their own piece of the glory.

Deacon Reaves Sets the Tone

Kicking things off with the youngest racers on the program, 8 Boys saw absolute domination from the red, white, and blue. Deacon Reaves rocketed off the gate all day long, and his lightning-fast holeshots were the story of the class. Gold is heading back to PowerFX's Sheriff along with a celebration from the Reaves family.

The 10 Girls Sweep the Podium

If Deacon's ride was domination, the US ladies in 10 Girls served up obliteration. Defending World Champion Tenisyn McKee sat on point all day, with teammates Alexis Southwell and Henley Greer riding right behind her to lock up a full USA podium sweep. Rounding out a stacked field was Irelyn McGinley, who finished 7th in the world but raced like she belonged at the top of it, making bold moves and riding well beyond her years. Keep an eye on this group; they're only getting started.

Sessa Defends, Salemme Backs Her Up

American dominance rolled on in 11 Girls, where Remy Sessa and Briella Salemme brought their A-game. Sessa defended her World Championship title with grit, holding off Colombia's Luciana Castillo Diaz, who finished sandwiched between Sessa and Salemme across the line, until a relegation dropped her back and handed the US the top two spots on the podium.

Standing Tall for their Team

Before we crown our final World Champion of the day, a few more riders deserve their flowers for flying their flag with pride. In 8 Girls, Jagger Hines put on an all-heart display around the track, claiming 3rd in the youngest class of the weekend. In 9 Girls, Rylan Schroeder and Brecken Chadwick raced their hearts out, bringing home 3rd and 6th place finishes for the US Also mixing it up on World Plate day: Chris Sutton finished 7th in 40-44 Men Cruiser, while Canadians Jasper Han (3rd, 9 Boys), Autumn Zambo, and Laura Stewart (both 6th) made their mark on Brisbane.

Erin Moore's Moment, Years in the Making

Last but far from least: Erin Moore. She's been chasing this since before the 2024 Rock Hill Worlds — and in 2026, it was finally her time. Racing in 35-39 Women Cruiser, Moore had the Aussie-packed grandstands buzzing with a holeshot on every single lap. Coming into the final lap, she found another gear, riding a smart, defensive line to hold off both China and Australia to the line. Moore sank into her bars as she crossed, letting out a scream that had been years in the making.
