It’s getting real. 

The 2026 UCI BMX Racing World Championships are almost underway, and the US crew in both Championship and Challenge classes are making their final preparations to take on the world.

Just last week, the USA Cycling Championship team was announced, highlighting racers who will be representing the Red, White, and Blue in Brisbane, Australia.

2x and defending National No.1 Pro Cam Wood leads the UCI World Cup Standings, and while the World Championship is another beast entirely, Wood has competed and held his own against the whole field from motos to mains in 2026. 

A lot of excitement and expectations come with this roster, as US BMX fans are among the most critical (myself included) when it comes to watching the stars and stripes compete on the world stage. However, a reminder for the room, this is only the beginning. 

Following the 2026 World Championships, the road to LA begins. August 1st marks the start of the Olympic point chase for Nations and Individuals, so a strong showing this year can snowball into more spots and more funding to grow our Nation ranking and bring a full squad into SoCal. 

From the phenoms to the rookies, the US squad is ready to pack up and head down under for their chance to shock the world in Brisbane!
